HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Like we said last year, Christmas is a magical time of year for a number of reasons but one of them is the influx of snail mail with lovely greetings from our friends and family. Allison and I thought it would be fun to, again, to do a little round up of our favorites from friends and family (and a contributor made the cut!) We are already getting inspired for next year!

Vanessa’s 2012 Favorites:

Fossum Family: First, I just love this family to pieces. Tyce (their 2-year-old) is Caroline’s BFF and just the spunkiest little kiddo we know–other than Caroline. So the front of their card is just pretty and classic, which is nice. I really like the snowflakes, but my FAVORITE part of their Christmas card is the back. For anyone who had a bad Santa experience, this is sure to bring a smile.

Bowman Family: We got a lot of “Laughing All the Way” cards this year and two of them made my cut. Beth was my very first boss and as a boss, she was not laughing all the way, so to see her smily and happy with her family, makes me happy. I just love the theme and the colors…and of course the back is precious.

Patterson Family: This family made last year’s cut, too. They are also the second of many “Laughing All the Way” cards we received. What I love about this card is the beautiful photo on the front and the gorgeous shots of their kiddos on the back. I also love the chevron–it’s super trendy. The Patterson’s were blessed with Baby #3 just in time for Christmas, but not in time for their card. Welcome baby Vivian!

Pascoe Family: I just love these little boys in their PJs…such a cute idea to mix in some classic family shots with some cute jammie shots.

Allison’s 2012 Favorites: I was so fortunate this year to receive tons of repeat Christmas cards {even thought I sent out none last year or this year}. I love love love receiving Christmas cards and it is my solemn vow to send them out next year! With that said, I loved all of my cards for different reasons but I chose a top 5 based on quality of the card paper, originality, “theme”, and photo quality.

Hart Family: OMG! I literally LOL’d when I received this card in the mail… I guess you’d have to know the family. They also had seals made for the back of the envelope of the 1st photograph so before I even opened the card these 4 beautiful faces is what I was greeted with. Wesley and I both agree that this is our #1 favorite Christmas card EVER!

Zapalac Family:
I received a couple of horizontal cards, but this was one of the first that came in the mail. The quality of the paper was outstanding, the pictures were phenomenal, and overall I just thought it was perfect. Somehow I managed to crop out 1/2 of little Brian {Sorry, Dana}. I think I loved this card so much, because if I were to have done one this year, I would have wanted something similar to the Zapalac’s.

Krause Family: This card came from our very own contributor, Ashlee’s family. It’s evident that A LOT of thought goes into their theme and outfits. A card like this takes a lot of planning and I appreciate people who go all out for the little things in life aka, a Christmas card. If I didn’t know Ashlee and I saw this card, I’d want to be friends with her family… they look genuinely happy and like such interesting people. I really look forward to their themes! This was the NEVER ENDING CARD that I just kept flipping and turning to get to the end. I LOVE IT!

Redmond Family:
The Redmond family was on my list last year too… their cards are ALWAYS so pristine. The pictures are always flawless, the paper is divine, and they always look so expensive. I almost want to frame it! The only thing I wish is that they had a photo of themselves this year… I never ever ever see the Redmond’s {despite the fact that Brandi was in my wedding and planned Lincoln’s baby shower} so I miss seeing her smiling face.

Brown Family: The Brown family was on my list last year as well… I LOVE that Gina tells a story with her cards keeping everyone in the loop with their lives for the year. There’s always a plethora of photos throughout the year and WHEN I do a card next year, I might just have to steal her theme 🙂 This was another never ending card with so many photos and sides!

So these were our favorites, did you get some great cards in 2012?
