So we have to keep these things alive and make sure they thrive?  No, I’m not talking about a plant…I’m talking about our kids!  As soon as they reach “toddler” status, it’s less about the lovin’ and more about their brain growing.  SO.MUCH.STRESS.

I am personally fascinated by how smart kids are and how quickly they learn and grow, especially before they reach the age of 2!  Did you know that a child learns more in the first 36 months of their life then they will the rest of their entire life?  Pretty interesting stuff. I am one of those moms who is constantly asking teachers if Caroline is on level or advanced (or behind) and I guess because of the frequency of my questions, last week, they gave these handy dandy sheets that show me where Caroline should be by 2 and where she should be by 3!  I can’t help it–I’m a data driven person.

So, for those of you with kiddos younger than three, I thought it would be helpful to share this checklist with you.  It’s probably important to say that these are from The Goddard School and are in line with their curriculum.  However, you can find similar milestone lists at Babycenter.com, webMD.com and KidsGrowth.com.

So, where does your toddler fall?  On-track? Caroline is definitely meeting her Toddler milestones–with the exception of jumping–and is starting to make some headway on the three year old milestones.

  1. My children attend and attended the Goddard School here in Ohio and they really did learn all the stuff in the first three years.
