It is house crashing time again, and this one is all for the kitchen! This week we are taking a peek at Ashlee’s kitchen and pantry. With a house full of boys the kitchen is a major part of her life because those boys can eat a lot!!!

One of my favorite things in my kitchen is my pantry and pantry door. I had the door painted and distressed so that it is different than any other door in my house. {Thank you Pinterest!} I thought my husband would never go for, much less like how the door turned out but he does….double score. I thrive on organizing, so I am very OCD about my pantry and kitchen cabinets. I catch a lot of grief from a lot of friends haha. Everything in my pantry has a place and is most likely labeled.

Organized Pantry

The glass jars are from Hobby Lobby and Target, the chalkboard labels I found on Etsy. They hold flours, sugars, beans, rice, snacks, you name it. If it can go in a jar, it does. I prefer glass much more over plastic. The top shelf of the pantry is mostly for “party” essentials: basket-o-alcohol, koozies, popcorn maker, drink pitchers, cupcake holder, etc.

My OCD kicks in overdrive when it comes to organizing canned foods and such. Canned foods {which I don’t keep much of, I much prefer fresh} are all in rows by kind: beans in one row, diced tomato/sauce in a row, sweet potatoe/pumpkin puree, etc. On the other side the oils are together, as are bbq sauce, PB&J, syrup, etc. Anal retentive I know, but it makes it so easy for me to know what we need and don’t need at a quick glance.

The baskets are all from Wisteria and each holds a different category: teas, dry beans, pasta, baking goods, onions, potatoes, & snacks/lunchbox goodies, and party paper supplies.

As far as layout, my kitchen is pretty much run of the mill in my opinion. It has enough space for us, but don’t get me wrong…when we build a house I want a BIG kitchen!

On the counters are a few décor items such as pictures, our giant cookie jar, and my fave West Elm hive vase. Then of course there are the essentials: coffee pot, knives, and then my favorites from Anthropolgie which are the fruit bowl, spoon rest, and measuring cups and a trivet from my bestie when she visited Greece.
